If something on CampusDex has harmed you, breached these rules, or mishandled your personal data, this is how to raise it and who is accountable for answering.
Version 0.1-draft · Effective: Not yet in force
This document is not final. The sections below are structure only — the notes under each heading describe what the finished clause has to say. Nothing here has been reviewed by a lawyer and none of it is binding yet.
Grievance Officer
Name and postal address are required by the IT Rules 2021 and must be filled in before launch. Edit them in src/components/legal/legal-shell.tsx.
Describe the routes available — email to the Grievance Officer, and any in-app reporting option — and confirm that complaints can be made about content, another user, an event organiser, or how CampusDex has handled personal data.
Ask for enough to act on: the complainant’s name and contact, what the complaint concerns, a link or screenshot where relevant, and the outcome being sought. Note that anonymous complaints may be harder to resolve.
Under the IT Rules 2021 a complaint must be acknowledged within 24 hours and resolved within 15 days. State both commitments plainly and describe what an interim update looks like if a complaint takes longer to investigate.
Explain that complaints about personal data — access, correction, erasure, or a suspected breach — follow the same route, and that a complainant who is not satisfied may escalate to the Data Protection Board of India.
Name who reviews a complaint if the complainant is unhappy with the first response, and how to reach them.
