Community Guidelines

The rules for what you can post and share on CampusDex, and what happens when they are broken.

Version 0.1-draft · Effective: Not yet in force

This document is not final. The sections below are structure only — the notes under each heading describe what the finished clause has to say. Nothing here has been reviewed by a lawyer and none of it is binding yet.

1.What these rules cover

State that these guidelines apply to every place a student can publish: posts, comments, club announcements, event feedback, poll responses, profile bios and uploaded images. Confirm they form part of the Terms of Service.

2.What you may not post

List prohibited content explicitly. The IT Rules 2021 expect an intermediary to name these categories: content that is defamatory, obscene, invasive of privacy, harassing, hateful, encourages an offence, infringes intellectual property, impersonates another person, or is knowingly false. Add campus-specific rules such as sharing another student’s contact details or ticket QR.

3.Reporting content

Describe how a student reports a post, comment or account, what information to include, and what to expect after reporting. This route has to be visible in the product, not only described here.

4.What happens when rules are broken

Set out the range of actions: removing content, warning, restricting posting, suspending or closing an account, and withdrawing XP or rewards obtained through prohibited behaviour. Say who decides and on what basis.

5.Appeals

Explain how a student challenges a removal or suspension, who reviews it, and the timeline for a response.

6.Requests from courts and government

Explain that lawful takedown orders are acted on within the period the IT Rules require, and that account information may be disclosed where the law compels it.
